The Sword of Ultimae

Description

I've had this piece in my possession FOR... EV... ER...
Originally just a drawing of Shalon's sword (from my Pheinixfall universe), Graphite on Black Art Board.

But during my tenure at the Art Institute, I completed it with PrismaColor Pencils in order to have it added to my personal Display in the school lobby.

The reason I'm only just now displaying it for the internet world, is because its the first time I ever really captured it, as it is much too large to use a scanner to copy it.

Even so, the photograph leaves a great deal of detail behind.

Running down the blood groove is a pair of elvine scriptures, flipped to be read no matter how one views the sword...and a single line of Draconic scripture, (both languages of my own design and creation)... All scriptures read the same thing...translated into English, they say.

"I am the Ultimae, the everbright, slayer of swords"
Which is the swords' Name.

In Elvine it reads as...
~Dt'zihn'csihn'Pe'Anumnumn'Ae'Al'kelluddumn~

Phoenetically speaking, it reads.
~Deet'zeen'zeen, Pay,Ah'noom'noomn, Ay, Al'kel'loo'doomn~

I forget the Draconic translation,...but it is likely impossible for you all to pronounce anyway. And its written backwards, as the tongue of the wyrms is.

Anyway, yeah.

so, about life sized, as it is an elf's sword, and elves in my world, are somewhere between tolkienesque and traditional faeri-tales.

The sword, while belonging in elvine hands, and being older than dirt, was forged by a dragon. It was made by Liquidis, bane of the western elves, ruin of Hailvannisa, destroyer of the birthplace of life on Arillus. (the world of Pheinixfall tales).
As such, it is likely the most powerful weapon known to Arillus, as Liquidis is more like a god than a dragon. He is the very essence of Light, the Elvine word for which is Ultimae, which is one of the Dragon's names. Liquidis is his right name, or at least that which he is known by. Ultimae Pseudophotoptrics Liquidis Altercatious, is his full name.
He is in my gallery somewhere.
At any rate, Liquidis appears as a great sleek wyrm, whose scales are mirrored. He is a master of illusion, light, and perception.

The sword, imbued with his magick, is sharper than sharp. It is as sharp as laser light, his most lethal weapon...as his abilities encompass all of Light's properties.

In its dormant form, the sword is naught but a long diamondesk segmented knife, with a long handle and narrow hilt. Imagine cutting off parts of this drawing in three places to see this knife - At the first barbs of the hilt, the end of the diamond-shaped pieces of the blade, and at the sapphire amid the handle.
But when Drawn, this weapon becomes the great barbed sword you see before you.
There is nothing, literally nothing, that it cannot cut. Even the fabrics of magick that cannot be seen in wards and locks and so on. In the right hands, this sword could even cleave your soul in twain by doing no more than nicking your finger. Of course, that is to reiterate, In the Right Hands.

Liquidis is Ultimately utterly Evil...and so is the sword.
It hungers for blood, always. It feeds on magick and life.
It can consume anything it cleaves.
It can penetrate even the most powerful of minds with a will of its own, as not even the psyche can hide from the so called 'light' of truth... or thereby the light of 'its' truth.

On the note of my elves,....
Think of a fellow like "The Gump", from the old movie, "Legend", in which Tom Cruise starred early in his career and Tim Curry played the best "Devil" the world has ever seen.
Lol
*loved that movie*
Tim Curry kicks ass.

If you haven't seen it...
You really, really should.
lol
specially if you like fantasy.
